Drilling for Inserts follows the standard shop practice but the special dimensional accuracy should be maintained as shown in the
Refer the Table
Drilled holes to be tapped with our special oversized Insert taps for the corresponding size of insert to be installed.
Inserts Are Always Installed Tang First .
Engage the insert as shown, in the pre-winder inserter.
Rotate the handle clock-wise for the insert to compress and pass itself from the prewinder inserter into the tapped hole.
As shown, the insert must be installed about 1/4 to 1/2 a turn below the surface of the tapped hole.
Inserts expand on fitting and will achieve the desired length only after fitment.
To blow-off the "Notched-Tang" after fitment of Inserts by this Tool, give a sharp blow to remove the tang. Now the bolt can go through and through. In blind holes, no Tang-break is required.
Sometimes Inserts are erroneously installed too deep, of wrong lengths or otherwise improperly inserted. Such inserts are removed with the help of "Extracting- Tool". Apply the tool to the insert, striking the head of tool with a light blow, turning it counter-clockwise, maintaining steady downward pressure.
